OUR MISSION
About Us
Adopt-A-Safta is a nonprofit initiative that pairs young adults with lonely & isolated seniors, having a special focus on Holocaust Survivors. Working off of the Big Brother/Big Sister model, our young volunteers "adopt" a grandmother or grandfather in Israel that is in need of love and attention. Our goal is to train as many volunteers as possible and to connect these two communities; young adults seeking to make meaningful contributions, and the elderly in need of warmth and connection, while we still are blessed with the presence of this holy generation.

OUR VISION
At Adopt-A-Safta we do not believe that any citizen should ever wait for the government to act on issues of such historical importance. Shoah Survivors are an invaluable treasure to our country, our people and our world. It our our honor to learn from them and help them age with dignity and respect. Our incredible community of young adult Internationals and Israelis offer another invaluable resource. This cohort embodies the values of social justice, volunteerism, and activism. Combining these two populations, we create a beautiful social infrastructure that provides a network of support, friendship, inter-generational communication and commitment to the preservation of memory.
